A Geek’s Weekend, Indeed!

Standard

This was an amazing weekend for geeks and those who are geeks at heart.

“The Avengers” debuted to big box office numbers here in the states. In what in my opinion is the best super hero movie ever made people went to the theatre’s in droves. The action and the story are really good! We saw it on a bigger than normal screen in 3-D. Great stuff!

On Sunday on PBS it was the series/season premiere of “Sherlock” which is a modern day adaptation of the classic “Sherlock Holmes” stories. We think that its one of the best shows on TV on the planet.

The Moon was closer to the Earth making it look bigger and everyone called it “Supermoon”. We didn’t see it because of some clouds and where our house is the hills got in the way a little. We didn’t get up to see it when the moon was overhead.

I love it when there are moments of geekness that everyone can share in. It reaffirms the fact that “The Geeks shall inherit the Earth”!

It’s Friday!

Standard

It’s Friday and the day has just begun. We went to Hardee’s for breakfast this morning and I am ready to face the day. After work Laura is picking me up and we are headed to the mall for a little shopping and dinner. The weekend is upon us and that is great!

About Sundays

Standard

Sundays are great. It’s the day where I spend time with God, family and friends. This is what most Christians call the sabbath day. These are days to rest and renew ones body, mind and spirit. This morning we went to church, this afternoon we are home resting and tonight we return to church for a picnic.

I love days like this where its peaceful and easy. Usually we watch Saturday Night Live from the night before because its harder and harder to stay up really late these days.

Tonight after we get home our evening TV slate will keep us entertained. We try to make the most of our Sunday’s. The sad thing about Sunday’s is that the next day is Monday and a return to work. My Sunday’s are valuable, needed and very much appreciated.

It’s Friday!

TGIF right! Friday’s are our friends and its time to end the week strong. Tonight its time at home with my wife and our fur-kids. We are getting pizza and watching a movie and some new TV this evening. All good stuff! Can’t wait! Hope everyone has a great Friday. Have fun!

3-Day Weekends and Wrecked Routines

Standard

I enjoy a 3-day weekend like everyone does. One extra day of fun is enjoyable. Then reality sets in and you have to return to work to get 5 days work accomplished in 4 days time. Sounds fun…yeah right. I hate when my routine and my rhythm of work gets out of whack. I am such a creature of habit in many things that I cannot seem to compensate or recover from a 3-day weekends disruption. Maybe its all in my head…or maybe its just a matter of working through it. I just have to keep swimming as Dory would say in “Finding Nemo”.
