Weddings are an occasion when two people come together and decide they want to spend the rest of their lives together. It’s a huge commitment that should never be entered into lightly. There are a lot of things that go into weddings but there should be more that should go into a marriage.
Weddings are for one day, a snapshot in time but what happens in the long haul is what really counts.
I enjoy weddings, they are a occasion of hope and renewal of life. No matter if the wedding is a religious or civil ceremony each is a way to bring people together. Unfortunately some couples won’t make it for one reason or another and for whatever reason its personal but it doesn’t mean they are bad people, it just means they need a different situation.
I celebrate the other married couples who are making their lives work as a team and I hope for new opportunities for those who were once married, they too deserve happiness.
To my wife Laura I am grateful for her sticking by me, I have been a bone head at times but she has forgiven me more than I deserve.
Thanks for putting up with my wedding posts today. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were blessed to be a part of it. Katie and Freddy are a great couple who have waited a long time for this day. The wedding was rescheduled from October due to Katie’s dad having some health concerns. A wedding is a renewal of life and a reminder of the joy and loveliness there is to be found in life. It has been a great day. God is good.
I hope that the happiness they have will be available to everyone and that marriage will be available to every couple who loves each other.
They are a joining of two people who love one another. Its also a choreographed dance with the bridal party. There are nerves and excitement. The most important thing is its the beginning of a couples life together. Weddings are ceremonies but marriage is the most important thing. I support ALL marriages and may God bless them.
Carol Fowler says she was fully prepared to lose the deposits she and her husband Willie put down on a lavish reception for their daughter’s abruptly cancelled wedding.
(My Take: This is making the best use of resources after a bad situation. Way to go parents!)

Today I was at a funeral and it began to make me think that people you know know other people you know. A couple of years ago I was at a funeral of a church member who happened to have a friendship with other people from other parts of my life. It’s like a sad way to realize connections that one has. The man who’s funeral I was at was a kind, sweet soul who could befriend anyone but the only connections we had in common was fellow church members.
Weddings work the same way. As two people come together you and the couple might have common connections with other people.
It’s further proof that no one is an island and that we are all connected in some way or another. Just think that Kevin Bacon thing.
