Blessed Be Those Who Mourn, God Is Doing The Same.

There is temptation to blame God for what we have seen today. God has done none of this. Men made bad decisions that led to the deaths of hundreds of people. God is going to be there in the aftermath, in the people who will help comfort, console and those who will seek peace in the chaos. Granted some will have a test of faith and that is understandable. To those who believe be sure to pray, to those who don’t offer good vibes in the universe. Now is the time for people to come together as a human family.

Help In Syria And Beyond

Our national morality extends to helping the helpless and defending the defenseless. The Syrian people are in need. Their civil war has cost them thousands of lives at the hands of their fellow Syrians. I hope we can reduce their suffering and pain through diplomacy first and force as a last resort. My prayers are with those folks who have been impacted by chemical and other weapons of mass destruction. May peace and love rule the day.

BREAKING: Senate Foreign Relations Committee approves resolution authorizing Syria force

As much as I dislike war this is a just and noble cause. The people of Syria are dying and chemical warfare is a threat to everyone around the world. Something must be done. I pray what they want to do will be done quickly and will work.

May there be peace on Earth. In our nations, communities and in our hearts. Friends lets learn to get along with one another and learn to understand each other. There are places where there is fighting and violence from Syria to the streets of our cities. People are fighting demons that have them hanging by a thread. Families are in turmoil and fractured. Lets choose another path, a better way. May the peace of God be with each of you.

D-Day Anniversary – June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. General Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day’s end on June 6, the Allies gained a foot- hold in Normandy. The D-Day cost was high -more than 9,000 Allied Soldiers were killed or wounded – but more than 100,000 Soldiers began the march across Europe to defeat Hitler.

Thanks to every soldier who sacrificed that day. God bless you.

Memorial Day, Honoring Real Heroes – As we observe this national holiday let us remember those who have served and sacrificed. Men and women of all walks of life came together to wear the uniform of our Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard. Some of these people gave their lives so that we can enjoy all the things that make our country a great nation. May God bless each family that remains and carries on.

Also we remember our police and fire personnel who have given everything in the line of duty in our communities.

70 Years Ago – Pearl Harbor, We Remember

Seventy years ago Japanese war planes attacked Pearl Harbor Naval Station in Hawaii. This was a day that lived in infamy President Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed. It was our call to action in World War II. Men and women joined the effort in defending our homeland which involved great sacrifices. I am grateful to every person who served in the military and kept the home fires burning.

America and Japan are no longer enemies but allies. Its that sort of peace and cooperation we should all pray and work for. The enemies of that war are now partners in making this world a better place. I am thankful for today’s military for keeping us safe and promoting peace. God bless us one and all.

Troops Coming Home – Awesome!

President Obama tonight announced troops coming home from Afghanistan. I am very glad that our men and women will be leaving the field of battle. War is something no one wants but sometimes is a necessary evil. In the aftermath of 9/11 we went to fight alQueda and the Taliban. Now that our troops have done their duty they are getting to come home. Freedom and life are gifts of the brave. May God bless our troops.
