Want to keep Christ in Christmas? Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, forgive the guilty, welcome the unwanted, care for the sick, love your enemies, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Xmas is not a bad thing, its an abbreviation and not taking the Christ out of Christmas like so many folks are mistaken in saying. Thanks to the Episcopal Meme’s page on Facebook for this.
Hiwassee College gives former foster youths a place to call home | The Tennessean | tennessean.com
LinkThis is a great article on my alma mater Hiwassee College and how it is helping former foster children find a place to call home and to get an education. Hiwassee is setting an example of what it means to help the least of these. I am proud to be a Hiwassee Tiger!

Church At Buckner Memorial United Methodist Church
This morning we went to church on campus at Hiwassee College. Buckner UMC has been serving the community and campus for a very long time. This morning’s service was held in the Rapking Meditation Chapel which is across the hall from the main sanctuary which is much bigger. It was more intimate and allowed for an unplugged experience (other than a CD player used when the choir sang). We needed no sound system, no big screens, no frills. This was a refreshing change. Most churches these days are about how flashy they can be and how many bells and whistles they have. This service was special with people who were there to worship God and have fellowship with each other. It was a time of blessings. Thanks to Pastor Tricia for a great service.

Hiwassee College Homecoming 2013
This weekend I will be away celebrating Homecoming at Hiwassee College in Madisonville, Tennessee. I am a member of the class of 1992 and I have fond memories of this place that shaped me into the person I am today. God blessed me with the opportunity to attend there to learn about the lessons of faith, life and friendship. It is a great place of learning for students of all ages. This weekend will be a time to renew and reconnect with some great people.
Reaching one person at a time is still the best way to reach the world.
