The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Last night was the first Tonight Show of the Jimmy Fallon era and it was great. The show was heart-felt, funny, sentimental and star-studded. Will Smith and U2 were a great choice for the first show. The History of Hip Hop Dance was hilarious, the rooftop performance by U2 was an amazing showcase for the return to NYC. The $100 gag with all those famous people was something to behold. Jimmy Fallon is going to carry the torch of this late night institution with class and in the same style of Johnny Carson who started his run in the same studio Fallon calls home today. I am in your corner Jimmy. Great work.
February 17, 2014 This is it. We are starting a new chapter of the Tonight Show. I can’t even begin to describe what we are all feeling right now here at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, NYC. But – I know that we’ll never have this exact feeling ever again. By this time tomorrow we’ll no longer wonder what it would be like to do the Tonight Show. We can’t put that feeling – that moment back in the bottle. All we can do is try to make the best show that we can and make people happy. And we will. Here’s to the first of many. Fun. – Jimmy
We are big Jimmy Fallon fans and we are excited about this moment in broadcasting history. Mr. Fallon is a nice guy and I hope he gets a great chance to win over America. He is a throwback to what Carson did back int the day plus he adds some great stuff of his own. Break a leg Jimmy!
