Reality sometimes smashes ones fantasies completely.
Life is a lesson of reality.
Speaking to the reality of a situation can be daunting. Not everyone wants to acknowledge or live in it. The reality of it all is something we try to bear but we don’t want to admit we suck at the here and now.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if someone’s fan fiction writing manifested itself into reality. Words becoming flesh acted out by everyday people. What happens when fiction becomes fact? Just imagine what it would be like to see it for real. Just something to ponder today.
It’s nice to have a diversion from reality. We are all shell shocked and stunned by recent events around the globe. Everyone is looking for a hero and characters like The Doctor remind us there are good people out there who care.
Who am I to argue with the great Adm. William Adama.
Today I am grateful for insurance paid for by me and my place of employment. We are both blessed to have jobs that provide health care. I still think about folks who go/do without for one reason or another. In a nation that builds amazing structures and pays athletes millions why can’t a family have the same level of health care as a Fortune 500 CEO.
Lately I have been talking about memories, reality and how they relate to one another. There are so many things in life where those things interface with each other. For me its how about how parts of my life have been impacted by memories that have been both good and bad. Reality means dealing with the here and now. That means life is to be lived in real time and you have to live in the moment. In my life there are some things I am dealing with where change is happening and most of it is out of my control. I guess Elsa in “Frozen” was right you have to “let it go” but that is never easy when you care a lot.
Memories can be great but they can also obscure our view of the current reality of a situation. It’s nice to look back but sometimes it can prevent needed change. Lately I have discovered this truth to be hard but necessary. I just wish pain wasn’t a part of it all.
As people continue to struggle out there always choose love and peace. Everyone needs a lift during times when they are facing adversity. It’s never a good thing to add to someones misery when they are trying to have a better life. We sometimes joke about the struggle being real, for many around the world its a daily existence. The common thread for many is that we have been down at times in our lives. However there is an opportunity to help people make their lives better.
