The Potential and The Power

Standard

We all have the potential to do amazing things. Every one of us is gifted in some way to make the world a better place. The one thing about potential it must be released in the form of kinetic energy that is a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Every believer has been empowered by God to use their gifts to make the world a better place. We don’t always use that potential in such a way that is life and world changing.

No matter if you are a spiritual person or not the potential you have is amazing.

People seem to need to be a part of something bigger than they are. We all have potential to do something that can be powerful to those we know and love. You have an opportunity to go out there and do some good things. Do good, always.

The Humble Pen

Standard

This morning in church my pastor talked about the humble pen in his sermon. He said a pen can do amazing things such as start a revolution, create amazing works of literature and even pay a bill or two. Under its own power it can do nothing.

It takes someone who knows how to use a pen to stir people to action and even to calm a revolution. The same can be said about a keyboard or any other communication device. Our words are powerful and when written down they speak for a lifetime. We have amazing power ourselves when we use those devices. With the power of a pen in our control we can do great things. Use your tools of creativity wisely my friends.

When The Lights Go Out

Standard

We just had a 4 hour power outage here at the house. It has been raining all day and the lines apparently were too wet.

Electricity is something you take for granted and when its not there you really miss it. Things like Internet, TV, air conditioning, refrigeration, lights and other things are conveniences that have made our modern lives easier, better. It also can bring you together too with fewer distractions. I was able to chill out and relax away from the onslaught of media.

Friends, electricity has been a way to advance our culture, advance our lives. Without power our daily connections can be impaired. We also cannot be wasteful of it and remember it does cost us our hard earned wages. The way electricity is made is important too, it needs to be clean to produce and transmitted to everyone who needs it.

And God said, ‘Let there be light’ and there was light, but the Electricity Board said He would have to wait until Thursday to be connected.

We are attached to different things in life. Some have a need to be linked to power, wealth and prestige. Others have the need for family, friends, community, life. Life gives us choices in what we embrace. I personally choose the warmth of relationships with family and the connection of community. Its a matter of what’s important and putting priorities in order.
