(This is a great choice and its about a person who is doing good in the world. Pope Francis has demonstrated a genuine care for people everywhere, not just Catholics. He has more impact on Christianity than any other single person on Earth. The work he is doing to focus attention to the plight of the poor is a noble effort. I admire this man for being a true follower of Christ.)
To be Saintly is not a privilege of a few, but a vocation for everyone.
Pope warns church must find new balance or fail
VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis has warned that the Catholic Church’s moral structure might “fall like a house of cards” if it doesn’t balance its divisive rules about abortion, gays and contraception with the greater need to make the church a merciful, more welcoming place for all.
(MY TAKE: The church universal SHOULD heed this call to be a place that is welcoming for all. Protestant evangelical congregations especially)
In this Year of Faith, let us remember that faith is not something we possess, but something we share. Every Christian is an apostle.
Dear young people, do not bury your talents, the gifts that God has given you! Do not be afraid to dream of great things!
Cardinal Jorge Mairo Bergoglio, Archbishop of Buenos Aries, Argentina has become the new Bishop of Rome and the new Pope. He will go by Pope Francis I which is a reference to St. Francis of Assisi. May God bless him and his ministry.
