The pictures you post online and later delete may never be permanently deleted. Snapchat learned that lesson the hard way this week. Be free to express yourself but careful my friends.
They are cool because its interesting to see the face behind the blog. Selfies can say a thousand words and tell a terrific story about you. Sometimes its all about taking a dorky picture but that’s good. Rock on everyone you have amazing faces. Share the light gang and smile!
As Summer is coming there is a great opportunity to blog about what we are doing. From music festivals to vacations and more. Posting pix and what your plans are is a great way to capture the memories and share them with fellow bloggers. I plan to do just that.
I can’t wait til Sherlock premieres here in the states so all these animated gifs will make sense or something like that.
“Selfie” beats “bitcoin,” “olinguito,” “twerk” and “schmeat,” say Oxford English Dictionary editors. 2013’s word of the year, ‘selfie’ refers to “a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website.” The mid-to-late noughties’ MySpace era cemented the word’s significance to social network users, but the OED committee noted that 2013 saw a 17,000% increase in the use of the word. “The earliest evidence that we know of at the moment is Australian,” said dictionary editor Katherine Martin, adding that the word’s construction “fits in with a tendency in Australian English to make cute, slangy words with that ‘ie’ ending.”
I challenge everyone to write something original, take a picture of something beautiful, shoot a funny video and post it. Be creative and share yourself. Tumblr is a platform for creativity. Do something unique. There are smart people here who can do amazing things. Show the world something dazzling. Your life is way more fascinating than you know.
Something About A Memory – I have been posting pictures on my church’s Facebook page remembering some good times we have had over the years. Its my hope that these memories will spur some warm feelings and perhaps getting some folks back into the fold at church.
Everyone has some fond memories and pictorial treasures in a scrapbook, a blog, a box somewhere in their closet. Those snapshots of time tell a lot about where we have been and perhaps gives a glimpse of where we can go. So many people have some fond memories like these that it helps them cope with the rough times.
A picture can say a thousand words so they say. Images can be like time machines taking us back to an event that meant a lot to us, a retreat in the mountains with friends, a trip where we did some good works, the wedding of a great couple, a time when you felt like you were on top of the world and some goofing off.
I have been glad to share these pix of people of White Oak United Methodist Church. My prayer is that there will be plenty of time to capture more memories and share them with special people.
