Forget about BBC America, great British TV is on PBS ( pbstv ) . They have some killer shows coming up in the Summer with amazing talent. If only Doctor Who were on PBS that would make it that much more awesome.
Who knew that ITV and PBS could make the early part of the 20th century sexy and interesting. I didn’t know a lot about the era until I started watching Downton Abbey and Mr. Selfridge. The more you learn, the more you know.
A Night Of Television On PBS (pbstv)
- Call The Midwife
- Mr. Selfridge
- The Bletchley Circle
All great shows from across the pond.
World War I From A Fictional PointStandard
It’s interesting to see from a dramatic stand point how Great Britain was preparing for the start of their entry into World War I. I have seen it on Mr. Selfridge and Downton Abbey. Both shows have their characters preparing for “The Great War”. There were real implications for both the Crawley family and for the staff of Selfridge’s department store in London.
This is a war that seemed to be a very brutal time for them and it would be for America.
Call The Midwife is now on our local PBS station WTCI. Interesting changes this season. Execllent show with great heart and shares a important time in history after WWII.
It is possible to share the love of God without even saying His name. When necessary use “churchy words”.
Love isn’t a state of perfect caring. It is an active noun like struggle. To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is, right here and now.
Downton Abbey Season 4 Finale Tonight!
It’s hard to believe its the end of another season of Downton Abbey. I hope its less shocking than last seasons finale. Now we wait for next season which should debut in the winter of 2015.
Happy Valentines Day from the Bates family.
