We welcome everyone to join this and every Sunday. Our pastor Rev. Lyle White will be preaching on “Trembling in the Giant’s Shadows” in our 10:45 service.
Many Christians “give something up” for Lent, but it usually has very little of impact on their life and walk with Christ. The reason is that we usually give stuff up for all the wrong reasons.
I post on occasion about faith and religion. I am a United Methodist Christian who seeks to live and blog in community with those who believe and those who don’t believe in God. I am here to express myself and to respect my fellow bloggers. My goal as a believer is to encourage, uplift and to be a positive representative of my faith community. I am also LGBTQ affirming and welcoming as an individual. The same God who loves me loves everyone, kind of cool how that works out. I also think Jesus loves the little guy and the people on the fringes.
Lets focus on what brings us together and that’s blogging. If I can help you in any way let me know. Grace and Peace to you all.
The Third Sunday of Advent at White Oak United Methodist Church
This morning our service was full of the spirit with great music and a great message from Pastor Lyle. Christmas does not begin without these four Sundays anticipating the coming of Christ.
Xmas is not a bad thing, its an abbreviation and not taking the Christ out of Christmas like so many folks are mistaken in saying. Thanks to the Episcopal Meme’s page on Facebook for this.
Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
