PBS Is Where It’s At For British TV

Forget about BBC America, great British TV is on PBS ( pbstv ) . They have some killer shows coming up in the Summer with amazing talent. If only Doctor Who were on PBS that would make it that much more awesome.

Who Knew?

Who knew that ITV and PBS could make the early part of the 20th century sexy and interesting. I didn’t know a lot about the era until I started watching Downton Abbey and Mr. Selfridge. The more you learn, the more you know.

Downton Abbey Season 4 Finale Tonight!

It’s hard to believe its the end of another season of Downton Abbey. I hope its less shocking than last seasons finale. Now we wait for next season which should debut in the winter of 2015.

Downton Abbey Preview Screening at WTCI

Tonight we’re going to a special Downton Abbey Premiere Preview Party sponsored by our local PBS station WTCI-TV45 in Chattanooga. We will see the first hour of the season 4 debut and have desert and champagne too. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

Mr. Selfridge, PBS/ITV Has Another Hit – Jeremy Piven is great in this role. He captures the essence of a showman and a retailer in the early part of the 20th century. Masterpiece PBS is the place to be on Sunday nights.

It’s Downton Monday! Like many Americans I watched the Super Bowl last night. Yeah, I like football. But tonight I get to see what’s going on with this home team that has captured our imagination. It looks like we have some friction upstairs with a hopeful return to a key player downstairs. The episode is on our DVR. It’s going to be great.
