Tzedakah

A Jewish Concept of righteousness, justice or fairness. It means helping your fellow human being. Perhaps it should be practiced universally. 

Holocaust Remembrance Day – We must never forget what hatred, scapegoating and racism does. On this day may we remember those who perished just for being Jewish. May this be a reminder to us all that our world is a place where fragile people and hate filled people share a home. God grant us peace, grace, understanding and love.

To all my Jewish friends celebrating this special holiday I say Happy Chanukah (Hanukkah). May God bless you as you light up the menorah and spend time with family and friends.

The holiday begins at sunset on Wednesday, November 27 and ends at sunset on December 5, 2013.
