Harold Ramis, A Comic Genius, No Longer With Us

Harold Ramis the comedy genius who was involved in movies like “Ghostbusters”, “Caddyshack”, “Groundhog Day” and “National Lampoon’s: Vacation” has passed away at age 69.

This man was a comic genius who in one form or another entertained us and made us laugh. He was an actor, director, writer and producer who was a part of some of the best films of the 20th century. His contribution to the culture and media will last for generations. A talent of his stature leaves a legacy that will be around for many years.

Mr. Ramis, thanks for the laughs. You will be missed. .

Getting It Right

One of the lessons of the movie “Groundhog Day” is to get things right. Unlike Phil Connors, played by Bill Murray we don’t get seemingly infinite chances to do it all again until you become a better person. Being your best should be a perpetual thing. We all have our faults but the desire and action of being your best is a great pursuit. There are lots of ways we can be our best and that is to love ourselves but not to be selfish or mean. We are not guaranteed tomorrow so we have to work to get it right daily. In life we only get one shot so lets work on getting things right. Practice can make perfect.

Groundhog Day, A Seasonal Classic – This movie is about deja vu all over again in the shadow of Punxsutawney Phil at the Groundhog Day celebration. Bill Murray, Andie Mac Dowell and Chris Elliott are all great in this classic flick. We are watching it on good ole VHS. 

The First Show of 2013 – Groundhog day was the first big snow event of the year in Chattanooga. It started around 10:00 AM this morning and it has been falling off and on throughout the day. It’s a stark change from earlier in the week when it was unseasonably warm and we had severe weather including a tornado in a nearby town. We are glad to have some real winter weather. Let it snow as my wife Laura says.
