Former British Prime Minister, Baroness Margaret Thatcher has passed away. She died of a stroke today at the age 87. Known affectionately as the “Iron Lady” Baroness Thatcher was a strong leader both at home and around the world. She will be missed.
The 2012 Olympics – Today in London the games of the XXX Olympiad will officially open although competition has already started with the US women beating France in football. Nations around the world will send their best and brightest athletes to compete for the gold. Thousands in attendance with millions around the globe will see the ceremonies that open these games. It’s an exciting day for the people of Great Britain as years of preparation come down to this.

Our friends in the United Kingdom have had some great women in leadership. Queen Elizabeth II has been on the throne for 60 years. They have had a great woman in Margaret Thatcher who was Prime Minister. Amazing fetes and a great role model for young women all over the world.
I hope for a woman to lead our nation one day. Perhaps there will be one in my lifetime. Women can do anything and we need to be sure today’s girls grow up to have every option available to them.
