Here are a few more pictures of our day at Girl Scout Camp Adahi in North Georgia. This was a fall festival I volunteered to help with today.

A Day At Camp Adahi

My wife works for The regional Girl Scout council and I went with her to one of her favorite places in the world, Camp Adahi. There was a fall festival that brought girls from East Tennessee and North Georgia. We helped with some arts and crafts that involved weaving a paper pumpkin. We had a great lunch in the dining hall and went on a hay ride. The lake was beautiful today too. We had a great time of helping make some Girl Scouts and their leaders feel special.

Girl Scout Cookie Sales Coming! Friday, January 11, 2012 your friendly neighborhood Girl Scouts will begin taking orders for Girl Scout Cookies. This is their biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds fund council activities as well. It also provides troops funds for activities and service projects. In the Council of the Southern Appalachians each box is $3.50 and goes to a great cause. Order early and often.

I Have Joined Girl Scouts as an Adult Volunteer. My wife works for the Girl Scouts of The Southern Appalachians and this seems like a natural thing to do. I enjoy helping them out when needed. Girl Scouts are a great organization that helps make our world a better place. In a time when Girls need advocates the Girl Scouts are there to help. I am a very proud Girl Scout member!

Girl Scout Bridgefest – Chattanooga, TN. Yesterday was a great day for the Girl Scout Council of The Southern Appalachians to observe the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scout movement. Bridgefest has been a tradition of the former Moccasin Bend Council in past years. Scouts came from all over east Tennessee and north Georgia. They took over AT&T Field and Coolidge Park. It was a great time had by all.
