Dogfooding can be a way for a company to demonstrate confidence in its own products. The idea is that if the company expects customers to buy its products, it should also be willing to use those products. – Wikipedia

This is a term I hadn’t heard before until today. It makes sense though. Asking someone to do something or consume something you aren’t using can be a credibility issue. People need to have assurance of quality and trust in products they are consuming.
