I Want Everyone To Succeed

It’s important for everyone I work with to do well. The better we all do means good things for our common cause. I see no value in getting jealous of the success of others. Perhaps it will help me work harder to do better. When one person succeeds then it should be something that inspires others.

Choosing A Career In Social Media

I love to blog…really making contact with people is a great thing to do. You are building relationships, sharing ideas and having fun along the way. When choosing to do it professionally then you have to know that your hobby has become your livelihood.

You have to keep up with emerging technologies, tools and websites to get your message out. There are changing platforms such as tablets and smartphones that present a whole new set of challenges. Other people can get in the mix such as agencies and clients both external and internal. When doing social media you have to work with people who are graphic designers, writers, web developers and other techie sorts.

You have to keep up with all of those things and changes in the message you are charged with spreading. All of those things seem to be daunting but they can also be rewarding. You have to utilize as many available tools to spread the message too.

Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, PInterest and email, yep email are the best ways to say what you want people to hear. The decision making process on if you should work in social media needs to be one where you get advice and determine can whether or not its good for you to pursue a career in that business. 

Work Smart, Live Well – I spent the morning at Chattanooga’s First Things First taking a great course on how to get the career I want. There are a lot of things involved with preparing yourself to go out into the world of work. Its more than filling out resumes and going on interviews although you need to do that too. Learning about who you are as a person and finding out what you want to do is a big part of it. As human beings we are made to succeed. This is the first day of classes and there is more to learn. I will be blogging about the things I have learned so I can share this information with you.

I Went To A Job Fair Today

I went to a job fair at Brainerd Baptist Church this afternoon and submitted my resume to several local companies. Most of these companies have marketing, sales and service openings. Its been about 6 weeks since I was laid off and I am hoping to find something soon. Fortunately with unemployment and my severance there is not a dire emergency to find something. My mind and body are ready to return to work. We will see what comes from the job fair.
