Boring and Bored

There’s nothing wrong with being boring or being bored. Life is not meant to be lived entirely at light speed. Slow things down and smell some roses. Drink some tea while reading a book or perhaps a good blog. Everyone needs downtime to renew and rest. Some of the greatest joy in life is in the still and silence.

Be Good, Online And Elsewhere

Be a good citizen in your community and online. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Just because you have a blog and Twitter account doesn’t give you permission to be a jerk or to treat others poorly. With much power, comes much responsibility (someone good said that once). Keep others accountable when they do bad things. Be careful, be kind and remember that the blog you have now can be easily taken from you, your blogging platform has that right.

Inspiration

It comes from anything, everywhere, anyone. Paying attention to what’s going on around you can give you the greatest source of creative work. Being inspired can be fun and you can inspire others. Divine inspiration can move mountains and make things better for everyone. Be open to new things that can motivate you to do some great things.  

Seriously Blogging, Not To Seriously

I am a serious blogger on a platform that never takes itself too seriously. Creatively, Tumblr works for me. My posts are about sacred things, serious things and silly things. All of them are a reflection of my life in family, friendships and community. That is what you get here on my blog. Enjoy.

Internet Explorer

I saw my blog today in Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and I am reminded that nothing looks good in it. This is a lousy browser. My Flickr and Instagram pictures don’t look right. If anyone has Firefox or Chrome on PC or Mac can you check to see if the blog as a whole looks right?

Yet A New Theme, Again!

I made another change to my blog with a new theme. I am now using Beaded Bright which you can find in the Themes section.

This one allows me to display my Flickr pictures on the right sidebar along with my Instagram pix and Twitter feed. It’s a nice, bold look that is easy to navigate. There are a lot of cool features here too. I like how I can change the colors to suit me.

Liking A Post

When someone likes a post it is a great feeling. No matter what is being said its important to know someone is paying attention. We may not agree with everything being said but its an acknowledgement that what you have to say is important. It’s also feedback that can be encouragement to a blogger and sometimes it fuels their creative fire. Of course it isn’t always about seeking approval but it means something more. Keep on blogging good people.

Another Thing About Blogging

To all those folks out there who follow me I thank you. Some of us might not come together “in real life” but here we are mates. The cool thing about blogging is that we see each other as people who are at different points in our lives who are geeky about the same things. No matter your orientation, age, race, gender, religion or ethnicity we all are one group of people who are just trying to make sense of the world we live in and perhaps share more about ourselves in the process.
