Armageddon, A classic modern-day blow up the world, good feeling movie. This movie starring Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, Ben Afleck Liv Tyler, Steve Buscemi, Jason Isaacs, and the late Michael Clarke Duncan. Its about an asteroid headed to Earth and a bunch of guys led by Bruce Willis trying to save the world. 

All this talk of Asteroids and Meteorites got me thinking about this 1998 movie starring Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler and Steve Buscemi. The story of saving earth from a massive Asteroid heading toward earth has been repeated a couple of times in the movies but this one stuck in my head today.

Then there is Meteor starring Sean Connery that had the USA and the USSR joining forces to eliminate the threat of a oncoming meteor headed toward earth.

The theme of global disaster is a common one in the movies. Perhaps its a distraction for some or a metaphor for others. However you look at it there is entertainment there. Popcorn anyone?

The Sky Is Falling…Sort Of

Watching CNN and we are on Asteroid watch today. Kind of scary considering the meteorite that hit Russia today. Reminds me of the movie “Armageddon”.

Michael Clarke Duncan Passed Away Today. Duncan had some great roles in some great movies such as The Third Mile, Armageddon, Talladega Nights and The Scorpion King. He had a larger than life presence on the big screen. He was 54 years old. Rest in peace Mr. Duncan.
