Steven Moffat has a great grasp on how to produce and write for Sherlock…he gets it. It helps that there is a literary source code to draw from and it takes place in present day.
When it comes to running the show for Doctor Who it seems creatively he isn’t focused and has a problem with linking the past with the present or so it seems. I think if he referred to classic Who as the source code he would create some amazing stories.
I hope Peter Capaldi can help him creatively and help re-focus the show for the future.
