The Twitter feed for @geekhistory posted this little fact today. As a current Tumblr user and a former Geocities user it is a little chilling.
Now, I don’t think that history will repeat itself, however there is always a cause for concern. In today’s Internet climate we are seeing rapid fire change with companies coming and going. Tumblr needs to keep innovating and building on what it does best, blogging.
Some changes are driving some users crazy but there is one thing about the Internet, it never stays the same for long. As long as David Karp is in control things will be fine.
Tumblr users need to remain faithful, active and continue to use this service as a creative outlet and not just a place to reblog. Yahoo has invested itself in Tumblr but we will have to see what the future holds.
